Well it is a new year (2012 – year of the London Olympics! Yipee!)  – hope you had a wonderful Christmas and New Year!

It has been the tradition in past years to release a calendar for the year featuring some of photographs taken over the previous year. So once again, here is a free 2012 photography calendar you can download! This year, rather than featuring wedding photographs, the calendar features  some photos from the 2011 365 project by a London wedding photographer i.e. me!

The calendar also has an extra free day just for you – February 29th (only kidding!) and don’t forget there is no late May bank holiday this year as it moves to June for the Queen’s Jubilee!

The Family Inc. is expanding. Here are a few photographs from the baby shower in honour of the new arrival.  Look at all these lovely presents! Lucky baby!

A baby shower is great fun, so don’t forget to commission me to capture your shower in all its glory, so you can show your baby all your memories when they are big!

The bride and groom were married on a sunny September afternoon at St Marys Cadogan RC Church, in Sloane Square. After signing the register in the vestry, the bride and groom along with their guests were driven to the Houses of Parliament where the wedding reception was to be held, on a red London bus!

Here is a sneak preview of some of the wedding photography taken at a recent September London wedding at Morden Park House in the Ewart Room.

Morden Park House is easily accessible being at the end of the Northern Line tube, and is a Grade II listed building. It was originally built in 1770 for John Ewart as part of the Morden Hall Estate. It has extensive grounds, just outside the registry office, perfect for photos!

When thinking about the ballet Swan Lake, I was inspired by the character of Odile, daughter of Von Rothbart – the Black Swan – and how well suited the ballet was to a trash the dress bridal shoot, since it featured swans who spend most of their time in water!

So, this shoot features water and the seaside beach huts!

I was honoured to be joined by not only my shooting partner in crime Cassie, but also the actress Victoria Emslie who played the part of Odile during the shoot and Emma who did the fabulous Black Swan look!

Shot on location at South Bank, the focus for the shoot was the Appearing Rooms Fountain by Jeppe Hein, the Yellow Stairs, and the Urban Beach Huts.

To complete the look of the Black Swan, we sourced the green and black feathered cape from House of Fraser and the full length black ballgown from a local charity shop. The vintage watch necklace and shoes are the model’s own. Hair style by model.

As you may have deduced from the distinct lack of May, June and July updates, that the 365 project is currently on ice, due to the busyiness of life and business! The 365 project will continue at a slower pace, however I can’t promise a photo for every day! You can see check out the 365 project on Flickr, but tune back for some exciting projects and more wedding photography with personality!

As all wedding photographers know, the old saying goes – never work with children and animals… luckily I have never listened to that!

Recently I was commissioned to shoot the latest range of luxury headbands and hats for babies and children by Posh Petals Boutique. Posh Petals Boutique also do ladies’ hats and wedding fascinators and are available for bespoke commissions.

Our models for the day were a 3 year old, a 2 year old and a 6 month old baby. They were superb and loved hamming it up in front of the camera… no adults were hurt in the making of these photographs I promise!

The Posh Petals Boutique website will be going live  in August, so do check back then!

London wedding photographers

The bride arrived in a black Hummer limo along with her bridesmaids and flower girls. The Hummer was a formidable vehicle taking over the tiny carpark! I still don’t know how the limo driver manged to manover the Hummer into such a tight space!

The bride wore a white princess gown with a sweetheart neckline embellished with brocade, beading and asymmetrical straps. Her floor length cathedral veil was complimented by a striking Cleopatra style diamonte tiara. Her bridesmaids also wore white asymmetrical shouldered floor length gowns. The flower girls’ white gowns had roses sewn into the hems of the dresses. The bride used purple as an accent colour for the groomsmen’s waistcoats and cravats as well as at the reception.

The  groom was unfazed by nerves, confident that this day would be like every other day, however during the exchange of the vows both the bride and groom were overcome with emotion and had to repeat their vows several times!

After signing the register, the bride and groom sped away in luxury in the Hummer to take their photos before returning for the start of their reception. The bride and groom danced into their reception through a wall of guests clapping and singing!

The bride and groom were joined at the high table by the maid of honour, best man and the parents of the bride and groom and the bride’s brother. The wedding breakfast was a delicious meal of curried goat, fried rice, jollof rice, fried fish, and salad with apple pie and custard for dessert.

After speeches and a toast from family and friends, the bride and groom cut their four tier wedding cake which featured different flavours in each tier – banana, maderia, fruit and carrot!
